Characterizations of Certain Marshall-Olkin Generalized Distributions

author

Abstract:

Several characterizations of Marshall-Olkin generalized distributions, introduced by Gui (2013) and by Al-Saiari et al. (2014) are presented. These characterizations are based on: (i) a simple relationship between two truncated moments ; (ii) the hazard function.

Generalized Marshall-Olkin distributions and related bivariate aging properties

A class of generalized bivariate Marshall–Olkin distributions, which includes as special cases the Marshall-Olkin bivariate exponential distribution and the Marshall-Olkin type distribution due to Muliere and Scarsini (1987), are examined in this paper. Stochastic comparison results are derived, and bivariate aging properties, together with properties related to evolution of dependence along ti...

Generalized Marshall-Olkin Models: Ageing and Dependence Properties

We analyze several aspects of a class of bivariate survival models that arise as a direct generalization of the bivariate exponential Marshall-Olkin model and that describe situations of (possibly dependent) competing risks.

The Marshall-Olkin IKum Distribution

Finding alternative to most well known classical family of distributions has become a topic of high importance in academic research due to their striking properties. An increasing interest can be observed for the art of adding parameter to some existing distributions as one parameter family of distributions is not sufficient to handle various real contexts. There is a vast amount of literature ...
